Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do you use a piercing gun?No, I am a needle trained piercer which is the preferred method of piercing by APP. Please be aware that a needle pierce is not as quick as a stud gun and in order for me to safely perform a piercing your child MUST be able to sit completely still (typically by age 5-6). However, for infants and children not old enough to sit completely still, I use a hand pressured piercing device. This is not a stud gun you would find at the mall or Claire's. The device I use is single use and each set of earrings is completely sterile for your safety.

What is your pricing?Private in home appointments: $245 Pop Up or Studio Appointments: $150 Piercing Parties: 5 people or more $150/person Pricing includes each piercing (both lobes is considered a piercing), jewelry and aftercare cleaning solution
-
Where do you travel?Locations within 30 miles of Walpole MA are included in your piercing package. Locations greater than 30 miles will be subject to a travel fee.
-
What is the youngest age you pierce? The youngest age I will pierce a child is 4 months old as long as they are up to date on all vaccines. This is for your infant's safety to minimize risk of infection.
-
What age do you recommend for a first piercing? My rule of thumb is before 12 months or after 5 years old. I DO NOT recommend piercings for ages 2-4 years old. Toddlers are notoriously the most difficult to pierce for many reasons. Toddlers LOVE to touch and play with everything, including their new piercings which increases the risk of infection. Keep in mind your child must comply with aftercare for 6-8 weeks and needs to sit still during the piercing.
-
What happens if my child cries or gets scared?Tears are incredibly common and totally accepted here! Many kids are often nervous at first and I find it helpful to explain the process and expectations. Telling them "it wont hurt" or "you wont even feel it!" is not helpful and causes distrust. Keep in mind appointments are 30 mins long and if you feel like your child might need some extra time to get comfortable please message me prior to booking. I will never force a child to get pierced and want their experience to be a positive one. However: kicking, hitting or biting WILL NOT be tolerated. I do not pierce unless it can be done safely for both the child and piercer.
-
What is included in my piercing package? For each piercing you will get: -Travel to your home (travel over 30 miles of Walpole MA subject to additional fee) -1 pair of earrings or selected jewelry for single piercings -Numbing cream if requested -Aftercare cleaning solution or spray -Personalized Piercing Certificate and stickers
-
Do you have a studio I can come to?Yes, my studio is located at 32R Spring Street, Medfield MA. Studio hours are Mondays/Wednesdays 9am-5pm and Tuesday/Thursdays 4-8pm by appointment only.
-
What forms of payment do you take?I accept all major credit cards, venmo, or cash. Payment is due at the time of service.
-
What jewelry options do you have?I only pierce with medical grade titanium or plastic, which is the safest on the market. I have a variety of shape sizes and colors for you to choose from!
-
What do I clean my piercing with?At the time of your appointment you will be given saline solution or spray to clean your piercing with + an aftercare instruction card. Do not clean your piercing with hydrogen peroxide or alcohol, it will dry out and will not heal.
-
How long will it take my piercing to heal?It typically takes about 1 year for a piercing to heal completely. After about 6 weeks of good aftercare you can change ear lobe piercings. You can change cartilage or inner ear piercings after 6 months.
